Welcome to Sonosession, your complete resource for ultrasound training. We have proudly taught medical practitioners ultrasound scanning techniques for over a decade. This textbook is an excellent resource for any practitioner performing Ob-Gyn ultrasound exams. Combining this book with our online lectures and hands-on workshops provides a comprehensive learning experience. We begin with an introduction to ultrasound principles, physics, terminology, artifacts, image orientation, and scanning techniques. We then review the non-gravid pelvis and each trimester of pregnancy, including pathologies and anomalies.

This book is designed as a foundational and practical approach to Obstetric and Gynecologic ultrasound. Our book has been used as a textbook for midwifery students and can be a valuable reference for obstetricians, nurse practitioners, and emergency room staff. This book prepares Certified Nurse Midwives to pass the ARDMS Midwifery Ultrasound Certification. There are preparatory test questions with answers and explanations. It contains hundreds of images and illustrations. It includes basic anatomy and scanning techniques, as well as fetal anomalies and ultrasound findings. This book will also prepare you for the POCUS Ultrasound Certifications.

We offer hands-on courses throughout the year in two beautiful locations: Monterey, California, and Asheville, North Carolina. We also travel to facilities with multiple practitioners who need training and provide custom hands-on courses. You can read more about that here.
