Bill Shepherd has been in the field of ultrasound for over 30 years. He has a Ph. D. in embryology and is registered in vascular, abdominal, OB-GYN, and neuro-sonography. He was a scientist at the Institute for Cancer Research and an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in the Department of Biochemistry + Biophysics. Bill later taught ultrasound as a clinical instructor and as an assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is a part-time sonographer and a visiting faculty member at the Jefferson Ultrasound Research and Educational Institute. Bill has written multiple books on the subject of ultrasound and published several research papers. His interests lie in obstetric and vascular sonography as well as ultrasound physics.
